WELDING ONTO AXLE: Pinion angle recommendation is -2 to -4 degrees when used with CalTracs. NOTE: This is the angle of the pinion in relation to the angle of the output shaft of the transmission, NOT the driveshaft. Add the angle of the pinion yoke to the angle of the output shaft with the vehicle sitting at rest with weight on the tires.

Calvert Racing’s portable Ballast Box is made from 11 gauge steel and TIG welded at all seams. Able to hold 100+ pounds of lead/ ballast under the locking lid. Lid held in place by four locking flange fasteners for easy weight swap. Unlike many Ballast Boxes/kits, this box is completely portable and will accommodate many different kinds or combinations of weights/ballast, allowing you to place the weight exactly where you need it. NOTE: While you can use your vehicle’s stock ubolts with CalTracs, Calvert Racing’s 1/2″ diameter u-bolts is an upgrade as most stock applications come with 7/16″ diameter u-bolts. We recommend torqueing the u-bolts to 65-70 foot lbs. After running the vehicle down the track a few times, we also recommending checking the u-bolts and readjusting if necessary.
